SITE RULES
OOC RULES
ONE. You do NOT have to be familiar with Pokemon to join EPOCH:Reboot. While we recommend you at least check out Bulbapedia, if you've never played a Pokemon game, watched the series, read the manga, etc. don't worry too much about it. One of the original admins has never touched the game before either. If you just want to create a character with no Pokemon that just hangs out, completely clueless about the super powered furry creatures running around, go for it. Some people want to be the champion, and some people just want to hang out in cafes, we welcome all kinds.
TWO. EPOCH: Reboot (E:R) is a PG-13 site. This means don't go fucking crazy with cursing or gore, and always fade to black for your more intimate moments. The moment anything gets below the belt or under the clothes in general, just cut it there. We'd like to not get shut down by the ProBoard Overlords because of characters getting down and dirty. Additionally, understand that Pokemon is a genre largely dominated by younger members, and we would like the site to remain friendly to them as well! As such, we will be harsher on lewd or suggestive material and character behavior than we would be on cursing or violence.
THREE. Understand we're all human. Everyone has flaws, tempers, and quirks that may be bothersome, but no body is perfect. Patience is a virtue and if you can't Keep Calm and Move On, either step away from the keyboard, take it out of the cbox, or talk to a staff member if you feel necessary.
FOUR. No Power Playing. For those that may be unaware, Power Playing is when a member takes control of another member's character or Pokemon without permission and disables their ability to properly react to something. This can be done simply by having Character X do 20 things in one post without allowing Character Y to interrupt them, or this can be done by flat out stating "This happened" with no questions asked.
FIVE. No Meta Gaming. Anything you learn in OOC context should not affect anything your characters learn and/or know. This is especially crucial to keep in mind regarding team activity, because many teams will have classified information or have not yet gone public enough for just anyone to know they exist. If you want your character to learn anything, such as Team Activity, Mega Evolution, other characters back stories, etc. you are absolutely expected to learn these things through IC efforts, just like everyone else. Off screen half-assed excuses will not be acceptable.
SIX. If your goal is to be the ultimate bad ass, this site may not be for you. E:R is a sandbox RP site with more of a focus on Slice of Life rather than a site wide plot. While we do have teams and conflict stirring, for the most part, the community just seems to prefer laid back RPing. In that case, it means that plot is top priority. While some members may have large PCs or large banks of dots (E:R's currency), this does not make them impossible to defeat or give them bragging rights. Anyone that seems to focus solely on being the almighty bad ass that can do no wrong or ever lose will be told to take their show on the road.
SEVEN. If you see someone doing something they shouldn't do, let a staff member know either through a PM or notifying them on Skype/Discord. Ignoring the problem does not fix the problem.
EIGHT. If you see the staff make a ruling that you feel isn't right or are unsure as to why they made their decision you can question the staff. Admittedly, we make mistakes just as much as anyone else and sometimes we may have missed something or misunderstood what was going on. However, at the end of the day, Staff have the final say on what goes on.
ONE. E:R allows members to make up to Four Characters, and must get the Staff's approval first before they may make anymore characters after that point. This is to avoid having a lot of inactive accounts lingering around the site. To be approved for a fifth character, all other character accounts must have at least 3 posts having been made in the prior month or a good balance in regards to how active they are. Breeders or Professors posts in the Breeder's Bazaar will not count in regards to their activity.
TWO. This is a One Character per Account RP site.
THREE. All Display Names must be your character's name, or the alias they are more often than not referred to as.
FOUR. Avatars must be 100 x 100 and hovers must be 200 x 300! Any inappropriate imagery that is posted up will be taken down by staff and a warning will be issued. If you're not sure if your image is appropriate or not, it most likely is not, so don't risk it.
FIVE. Any and all graphics on your accounts must be of your character's FC. You cannot say your character uses X FC and then cover their account in Y & Z FC's graphics instead. If the FC is X, that is all we need to see from their account.
The Rules are subject to change as necessary! We strive to make this a fun, enjoyable roleplay, and will adjust rules as necessary to ensure this.
