EVOLVING
Pokemon that are evolving must have been used extensively in at least one of four main methods: battling, training, performances, or friendship. It is through this growth and relationship building between trainer and Pokemon that a Pokemon can successfully evolve, even if they must still use an item. Before you can evolve your Pokemon, you should be able to provide sufficient evidence of at least one of those four methods.
In order for your Pokemon to evolve, you need the proper levels or items, as well as an Evolution Serum. The type of serum you purchase depends on the type of evolution:
Initial Evo Serum: You can use this serum to evolve your Pokemon if it is a three-stage evolution Pokemon, going into it's second phase; an example would be Bulbasaur to Venusaur.
Final Evo Serum: You can use this serum to evolve your Pokemon if it is going into its final evolutionary stage. An example would be Venusaur to Ivysaur, or Magikarp to Gyarados.
Item Induced Serum: This serum is used in conjunction with necessary evolutionary items. If you want to evolve your Eevee into Flareon, you need this serum, as well as a Fire Stone.
You can buy Evolution Serum and evolutionary items at the PokeMart. They are listed there, along with which Pokemon can evolve from which items.
Once you have these items, in order to evolve your Pokemon, post a link to your current thread, as well as "evidence" threads (in which the Pokemon battled, trained, performed, or became a closer friend with their trainer), in the Evo Mod Summons. If your evolution is successful, please remove the Evolution Serum and any relevant items from your inventory.
Battle: A classic way to train your Pokemon! Battling with wild Pokemon or other trainers can increase the strength of your Pokemon, eventually leading to them being ready for evolution - try to show us that your Pokemon has gotten some solid battle experience, and is ready for the next stage.
Training: Not all training requires battling other Pokemon! Activities such as swimming laps and running the treadmill can actually qualify as strengthening a Pokemon in preparation of evolution. Shooting Flamethrowers at thrown targets and practicing intense flight patterns are a few creative examples that can qualify.
Performance: The art of coordination often requires extreme concentration, timing, and skill. Pokemon themselves will need to practice for their part in every performance; controlling an array of Will-O-Wisp for a light show would indeed be a show of skill!
Friendship: Some Pokemon species evolve once they develop a strong bond with their trainer; bonding activities show strongly here. Playing with your Pokemon, feeding it, and generally giving it extra devotion, attention, and caring for any specific needs can qualify. Become a good friend to your Pokemon partners!
COOLDOWNS
Newly hatched Pokemon must wait 2 weeks before evolving.
Newly caught Pokemon must wait 7 days before evolving.
Recently evolved Pokemon must wait 7 days before evolving again.
MOVES & ABILITIES
All moves, apart from the four you choose in your application, must be purchased through the PokeMart. No moves are gained from evolving. You may change a Pokemon’s ability when evolving, but it cannot be a Hidden Ability.
Mega Evolution is the ultimate form of evolution for certain Pokemon that have a particularly strong bond with their trainer. The stones required (mega stones & key stones) cannot be purchased, but instead must be found in Nue’s Mega Stone Ruins. To find out how to use these stones, you must discover the knowledge for yourself by speaking with active characters that already know, or NPCs.
No moves or abilities can steal a Mega Stone from a trainer or Pokemon (eg. thief, knock-off, etc). They can, however, be traded either in-character or out-of-character.
Mega Stones are not consumed upon use, but only one Mega Stone may be used per battle. When activated, Mega Evolution will take up one of your three offensive/defensive moves in a post.
Key Stones are the “key” to Mega Stones, and required for Mega Evolution; it takes one Key Stone to activate a Mega Stone. These can only be found by random encounter in the Mega Stone Ruins, and can be traded or given away.
