Breeding is an ability exclusive primarily to Breeders, and available to Professors in a limited extent. Much like in the games, a character pairs together two compatible Pokemon which might result in a successful breeding and a new batch of eggs.
Breeders get 2 breedings per week, and Professors get 1.
Any breeding will result in 0-3 eggs per attempt.
0 - No eggs
1 - 1 egg
2 - 2 eggs
3 - 3 eggs, and the parents cannot breed again for 2 weeks
Eggs hatch 7 days after they are rolled, and can evolve 2 weeks after hatching. The specific dates they can hatch and evolve will be posted by the mod upon rolling the eggs.
When a Pokemon hatches, you may choose up to 4 moves it may know from Start to Level 50, as well as choosing its gender and ability.
The breeding week will always reset each Sunday
Once a Breeder gets 50 successful egg rolls, they unlock a 3rd breeding slot, allowing them to make 3 egg rolls per week.
should we make it mandatory that the second post of all breeder farms is a template for keeping track of this?
A Professor gets a 2nd breeding slot after 15 successful egg rolls.
The breeding of Rare Pokemon is regulated by the Pokemon League and Golden Egg Society, and as such, they function under peculiar rules. Whenever a Rare Pokemon is bred, they cannot be bred for the rest of the month - if your Deino breeds in April, it cannot breed again until May!
Additionally, all rare breedings are taxed - after a successful egg roll, the breeder will have to pay 10 dots per egg.
Breeders who lack experience or are still fresh off the farm will be unable to breed rare Pokemon without permission - as such, only those with over 10 successful egg rolls can breed Rare Pokemon. Once you have 10 successful egg rolls, you can purchase a Rare Permit from the Pokemart - this item is proof of a Breeder's veteran status, and shows that they have permission from the League to breed Rare Pokemon.
Breeding is the only way to obtain Egg Moves on EPOCH.
If either parent knows a move listed as an Egg Move for the child Pokemon, then it may be learned in place of a naturally learned move. A hatched Pokemon will only know 4 moves at birth, and up to 2 of those moves can be Egg Moves.
Hidden Abilities can be passed onto a hatched Pokemon in limited circumstances. A parent must have a Hidden Ability that matches the Hidden Ability of the child.
Zigzagoon's Hidden Ability is Quick Feet. Teddiursa, who has Quick Feet as a regular ability, cannot pass on Quick Feet to Zigzagoon.
Numel's Hidden Ability is Own Tempo. It can pass on this Hidden Ability to Espurr, who has Own Tempo as a Hidden Ability.
Camerupt's Hidden Ability is Anger Point. It can pass on this Hidden Ability to Sandile, who has Anger Point as a Hidden Ability.
Camerupt cannot pass on Own Tempo to Espurr, despite being in the same evolutionary line as Numel.
