PSYCHICS AND AURA USERS
There are a few people in the world born with curious abilities; even rarer will they develop into anything substantial or worthwhile. In a world of monsters and mayhem, however, this is always seen as a small advantage indeed.
On Epoch, you may choose to app your character as having psychic abilities or being an aura user. Regardless of character age or experience, the person's powers will be weak and small, and while they may grow in strength, they will never be able to exceed a Psychic Pokemon's capabilities.
Epoch has a soft cap on how many aura users and psychics we allow - this maximum will change depending on how many total members we have during activity checks. If we already have the maximum reached and you would like to make a psychic - sorry! You may be out of luck.
Characters must state that they are a psychic or aura user at character creation! You cannot become one or the other after character creation.
A Psychic is someone who uses extrasensory perception (ESP) or extrasensory powers.
While there are a substantial amount of Psychic abilities in the Pokemon world, human psychics really only ever develop one or two in their lifetimes. Perhaps they can levitate a Pokeball, or maybe they lie awake at night unable to sleep for if they do they are plagued with visions of the recently deceased.
We ask that you keep your psychic abilities reasonable, and to remember that no Psychic will ever be stronger than the weakest of Psychic Pokemon. If you need help with these, please ask staff in the cbox!
Aura is explained as a wave that can be picked up by people just like sound. Certain Pokémon and humans can pick up this sound, allowing them to see and sense the Auras of others. However, due to the fact that Aura is the same as sound, it can be interrupted by anything that cuts the airspace.
Certain people and Pokemon can read this wavelength, giving them the ability to see people's auras, as well as glimpse into the surface thoughts of unguarded minds of people and Pokemon alike. Masters who devote their entire lives to reading aura waves are said to be able to communicate with their lifelong Pokemon partners.
